METHOD:
- Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan. Add split gram, curry leaves, cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Stir for a minute.
- Add asafoetida powder, turmeric powder, chopped green chillies, PRATEEK Basmati rice and salt to taste.
- Fry very gently for another minute then add the water.
- Bring to the boil and simmer, covered until almost all the water is absorbed.
- Fold in chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice, coconut powder and lemon slices. Remove from heat and keep covered for 2 minutes to allow the flavours to infuse.
- Serve immediately, garnished with lemon slices and coriander leaves.
